Just had to create a decent review for this, since its getting bad ones for no fault of its own.

We bought this monitor for our daughters room (on Newegg), which functions as both a TV (HDMI->HDMI) and a Computer Monitor (DVI->DVI), and it works flawlessly.

The picture is crisp and bright for the TV portion, and fantastic on the Computer portion as well.

The speakers, like all internal monitor speakers, dont go loud, but are perfect for a bedroom type area.

We arent really concerns about the wattage the monitor draws, since in 10 years time you would have had at least 2 more monitors by that time, so its really a moot point that shoudnt even be considered.

All in all, great purchase and very happy with what we got it for.

I picked up this set from a local retailer and then returned and ordered from Amazon because the price was 0 less! We are using the 2333HD as a bedroom TV set, not connected to a computer at all... decided to go with this model because (1) it was better-priced than Samsung's 22" TVs, (2) it was in stock and Samsung's 22" TVs are hard to find, (3) the feature set was better--Samsung's 22" TVs are not 1080p, and (4) it matched the room better because the walls are blue and this set has a blue glow to it (which can be turned off, unlike the red "Touch of Color" on the 22" TVs). The nice little SURPRISES we got with this deal were (1) a 6' HDMI cable in the box and (2) a great little TV with Optical Audio Out and other expandability features that I didn't expect. For the price, this TV is great, picture is excellent with several settings to tweak and some presets as well, decent audio that wouldn't win any awards but certainly works well for watching the news in the morning and watching a movie while we were unpacking boxes (we just moved). Some reviews have claimed "tinny" audio... don't forget that audio and picture are also dependent on the broadcast!! That being said, don't expect little speakers to give you beautiful, rich surround sound--that's obvious! 10,000:1 contrast ratio has seemed adequate, I have not seen evident pixellation yet... and the level of motion blur did not distract me while watching an HD broadcast of college football or Air Force One (an action movie). Air Force One DID show some dark-light pixellation but I think that was the broadcast--fast-moving commercials during the movie were crystal-clear in HD (I use Cablevision's HD broadcast, which is only 720p). I highly recommend this item for a bedroom or college dorm room.

First off, I must say that this monitor is huge (16"10) yet it lightweight. The piano black finish that goes around the screen does have a habit of capturing fingerprints, but once I set it down, and cleaned it off, it looks stunning. The stand is nice and sturdy; yes the monitor will wabble if you shake the desk, but definately not much. It doesn't shake as much as my 19" Viewsonic Monitor does. Sometimes when I walked by my Viewsonic monitor, I thought it was going to tip over. This one...never gave it a minutes thought. Sturdy and strong. I was amazed to come across this LCD monitor. A few places, I've seen it for over $[...]and others, a shade under $[...]. I was so happy to find this monitor for $[...].

I had this monitor for a little while and I am so happy I made this purchase. As stated earlier, I previously owned a 19" LCD and I went with a 24" LCD monitor to compliment my Sapphire overclocked 4890 video card. I went from 1280x1048 to 1920x1080 (with HDMI outlet).

LG's always packs their products good and tight in the box. This was no exception. Setup was easy. The manual was on the disc that had the driver on it. The installation pamphlet that came with the box was really no help. Most computers now, if you uninstall your previous monitor driver, when you turn on your computer, it will list it as, plug and play monitor. So no big deal when I turned on my system and looked over the instruction manuel on the pdf file on the disc. I've read reviews for other products and their are people who don't like the idea of putting the instruction manuals on pdf files; they WANT the written manuel in the box. That's fine. I don't mind however. I read the simple instructions that were on the disc, and it was a flawless install on my Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium system. Vista accepted the driver and it was digitally signed.

There was no digital cable in the box. My previous monitor had a DVI cable so I used it with this one. If you haven't gone "digital" with your monitor then you won't be surprised to see in the box, you are supplied a anolog plug. If you plan on going to digital, then you will be surprised because you'll need to buy one as it doesn't come with a DVI-D cable. I shake my head on this one but not a penalty since I already had a DVI cable. I also read the specs on LG's website and went to other places and found out that it didn't come with a DVI cable.

My games look amazing on this monitor. The Sims3 and FSX look great. The monitor is bright and the viewing angle is pretty good. I had to turn the brightness down slightly. It did take some time for me to get use to the resolution change to 1920x1080.

The touch controls are a nice touch as the craftmanship makes this monitor look very sleek. For a 24" monitor, it wasn't heavy at all. It's acutally lighter and thinner than my 19" Viewsonic LCD monitor.

Movies: I had a moment to try watcing movies on this monitor as last week (7/17/09) I had Verizon FIOS installed. Since it was to take a few hours, I took my playstation and hooked it up to the monitor. Again, games looked good (using the PLaystation), and I watched a movie. The movie using, the HDMI outlet on the monitor, looked fantastic.

All and all, I play a lot of games and do a lot of web surfing on it. This monitor is great. This monitor is strictly used as a gaming monitor but movies looked pretty good in HD (1080p). I got this monitor for under $[...] with free shipping (and no tax). Similar monitors are well over $[...] 24", Energy Star 1920x1080, very thin...what's not to like. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a DVI plug, only a VGA cable. Still, I highly recommend this one.

*Simple Notes*

1- If you built your own computer, some (if not most) video card kits come with DVI plugs (not the cable). Sapphire provided one for me but I didn't need it because my previous monitor had a DVI cable
2- Most product displays either online and in the store sometimes don't mention this as Energy Star complient. IT IS.
3- The stand does wobble but there has to be some big time shaking.
4- The monitor is very sturdy in the stand
5- The monitor is long, make sure your desk or workstation is long enough (the length is 11")

Ever since upgrading my motherboard (AMD 5600+) and video card (Nvidia GeForce 8600), I've been thinking about getting a new widescreen monitor to replace an old 17" Samsung SyncMaster 713v. This became even more important when I started editing HD video and digital photographs. Then two weeks ago I picked up an LG GGW-H20L, a combo Blu-ray writer/HD DVD-ROM drive. I had to upgrade my monitor. I wanted a slightly larger display but, more importantly, one with full 1920x1080 HD resolution. Since this is a desktop monitor, I was looking for something 20-22".

This monitor has a simple base which pivots up and down a few degrees. It has an analog VGA input and a digital DVI input and comes with a VGA cable but no DVI cable. Both inputs work well with the 8600 but I've set the analog to a TV switch box. The controls are neat--touch sensitive with an option to light up the controls when your finger approaches. The only bad part is it is difficult to read the labels. Some of the options are good: 1 or 2 hour reminder, color temperature, and separate RGB controls. Some are not too useful: Auto Bright, Photo Effects, and Gaussian Blur.

For the actual monitor performance, I have to say it is excellent for the price. I've watched parts of Blu-ray and HD DVD movies, edited and viewed some HD movie material, and did some photo editing. The monitor performed admirably with all these. Finally, I calibrated the monitor using Spyder2PRO and the default levels were a bit off. The calibrated image is outstanding!
